Susp. installed, still big wheel gaps.
I installed a Tokico hp spring/strut combo on my car a few months ago. I can still fit my fist into the wheel gap. I had this exact setup on my old 2g FWD and the wheel gap was about 2 fingers. Did I possibly do something wrong?

You can. It should actually have the car ride a little bit lower. In the rear, at least.
However, that truly is strange that your car is so dang high. A fist is probably the same as stock or even higher..
Are all corners the same way?

Sorry the confusion, but I am using a AWD tokico hp setup on my current car. What I meant to say is that I used to have the same setup but for FWD on my old car where the wheel gaps were much smaller.
But yes, its the same all around. /tear

I see. It's just weird because my old setup on my last car was pretty low.

that is weird though, did you make sure the springs you got were the same lowering height as your previous car?
tire and rim size can also play a factor, are you also comparing it with the same wheels you used to have?
I got 18's on mine so she stands a bit taller then yours, and for that i envy you haha...

Tokico springs in general don't drop the car very much if at all.

In contrast, I know Tokico springs to drop a decent amount. More than Prokits. They're rated for a 1.75" drop. Right at the line of losing performance from being too low, in my opinion.

My Tokico springs dropped me about 1.5" all the way around.
OP: The spring ends are set into the perches and isolators correctly, yes?

Scott, your car is a tin can. You need to remember that less weight on the springs will mean that they compress less when weight is applied to them. Brandy's car has the tokico hp setup on it and that bitch is slammed. I would suggest looking into how much your car weighs as an option as to why it sits so high.

you did cut the bump stops in half, correct? i remember in my instructions it said to do this. and that seems somewhat logical because mine are cut in half and my 14in steelies in front are tucked right now and the rear is lower, however, the strut is still about .8in away from hitting the bumpstops. just throwing this out there for you guys if you haven't done this, haven't found out why, and for people in the future. my drop seemed to be 1.75" front. and 1.5" rear.
also, i think the HP struts are a little weak, it looks like one of my rear struts are leaking. they've only been on the car for about 8 months. has anyone else experienced this?

Make sure you:
-Cut the bump stops in half
-Lined the springs up correctly on the shocks (you have to turn them to fit correcty, and sometimes they can move after you've adjusted them)
I just installed the Tokico Kit (1.75" drop) on my car and it dropped it quite a bit. Made a huge difference.
