I have a fairly good idea about the Nittos since they're on my car. New tires are a track day or two away, and I'm eyeing the Toyos. Actual feedback here on the R888 would be great, but they're still pretty new, so there's not much out there. I'll be going to 235/40-17 to get a slightly smaller width and O.D. As for what I'm looking for, I want it all. Grip and longevity. (LOL) I'm pleased with how long the Nittos last. Really, I know I'd be dissapointed if my next tire was a step down in grip in trade for longer life, so I need at least the same level of performance (if not a wee bit more) and roughly the same life span. Open to other suggestions of course.

Both rate the same: Treadwear 100.

Life's short, turn hard.

I have heard the Toyo is pretty good. I have personally ran Nitto NT-01's for two years and love them. Toyo actually builds Nitto if anyone was wondering the Nitto is usually less expensive.

The R888s have a little "hype" going at the moment. I see a lot of "I'm getting R888s" posts, but no reports or feedback. I certainly can't expect any long-term feedback at the moment. It'll be a short waiting game from here. That's fine because I don't quite need them yet.

If the performance is similar, I see no reason to go Toyo. I know what the Nittos get me, and the price is slightly better. Always a factor.

Of course, I'm hoping someone will chime in about how they blow the nittos out of the water, and are a must have. :dsm:

What kind of miles are you getting out of the nt-01's? I'm considering RE-01's but would like something even stickier like the NT-01's if they would last 8000 miles with 30% hard driving and not crack in the cold.

No good feedback for you unfortunately. I bought them "half" used. I've done three track days on them and they are nearing the "slick" stage. I'm impressed with how well they hold up thus far. One more track day on them is 100%, and I'll probably get another good outing after that. Overall, I really like the NT-01.

Looking foward to it.

(especially in addition to those new Muellerized JICs. Bet that was a good weekend!)

No real info personally, I still haven't seen my sizes in the R888's just yet.

How's that for exactly what I was looking for :thumb:

Setup sounds awesome.
