car vibrates...a lot

hey do any of you have any ideas on what I can check ### when i get over 50mph the car starts vibrating a lot and it gets really annoying and loud...any little tricks to make it stop???

my 2 suggestions are:

1. check your lug nuts make sure none of them are loose.
2. get your wheels/tires rebalanced again, a weight on the wheel could have fallen off.

3. Check your tires before you head off to the shop for balancing (or anywhere, for that matter). Could be that there is weird wear and something is about to tear itself apart.

Lug nuts are ok, nice and tight.

however, the little weights on both front and back tires (driver's side) have fallen off. the other two are still there. I didn't know it would make that much of a vibration.

it only takes a few ounces to balance a wheel. If they fall off I hope you got your wheels rebalanced ASAP

Check all of your suspension bolts/nuts to make sure they are nice and tight. I had a nut come loose from the upper control arm and it would only vibrate from 50-75mph. I've also seen an axle be the cause of that same symptom.

Do you have the right lug nuts? I put the stock lugs on my rims and thought it was snug but really I just dug into my rim so it didn't fit snug thus causing the nasty vibration when driving 60 mph!

As stated above, wheel weights are a must. As the tire speed increases (rpm) the vibration becomes more noticable. If you have a bad tread pattern or a 'bump' in a tire you will feel in at low speeds. I feel you need to rotate the tires and check the balance.

PROBLEM FOUND! PROBLEM FIXED!

Check this out guys....the car's vibration was getting worse and worse...vibrated hard at speeds over 25mph...took it to the tire shop and had the wheels balanced...HOWEVER that was not my main problem...as I drove home from the shop I was at a light and as soon as I put in 2nd gear (15mph) I heard a LOUD snap! I immediately put the car on neutral and coasted it to the side of the road...

I looked under the car and this is what I saw:

YEAH...I think that thing was being held with like 1 or 2 screws at the most...then it gave away...lucky nothing broke, except for the bolts.
