Spring Rate for Tein FLEX suspension

Does TEIN at least list a default rate for that setup? I would find out what it is. You may not have to specify anything. My JIC FLT-A2's came with rates of 504lbs/in and 392 lbs/in F/R respectively. I could have specified a change but felt that it was'nt needed. This is for my 99 GSX. I'm gonna stick with the stock sway bars for now, but may get the RM set in the future.( most likely ). I would'nt go with too high a spring rate if you plan to use the RM set cause generally you will need a rate somewhere right around the same as me......( assuming this is for your 'X', right ). Any higher and if your like 80% of most people out there, You wont like the ride........too harsh. I could probably stomach a bit higher rates since its not my daily ride, but with the default rates that I have it should make for a nice combo with the RM bars whenever I do get them.

The rates are about 550 Front and 330 rear on the Tein FLEX systems.

Too soft for the GSX rear, IMO, but I like oversteer. I shot them an email on whether or not you could buy them with different spring rates (like go to a 400 rate or something on the rear) rather than have two sets of springs.

I have not checked, but cait sith stated that the rates are about 550 Front and 330 rear on the Tein FLEX systems. To me this seems pretty good. I'm sure TEIN has matched the dampers pretty well with these rates. Seems like a balanced, more neutral outcome as opposed to increasing to a 400 lb./in. spring in the rear like cait sith stated that he would prefer. One thing I did not mention above, Is that when I do get my JIC's in....... If for some reason I feel the spring rates are a little too soft, I can adjust the preload and effectively raise the spring rate.

How do you like those JIC's? Are they as quality as the price goes? Are they revalvable/rebuildable (Big question for me)? I'm getting a set of coilovers sometime in the spring, and I do Autocross/Roadcourse/(Drift)...

Sorry if this is off topic. :\

Well............. I was supposed to be putting them on today, but cant do to weather conditions here..... snow. Build quality is TOP NOTCH...... excellant. I cant physically see anything that I would want to change......yet anyway. If you purchase your JIC's through an authorized dealer, they can obtain any part you need for the FLT-A2 set. Obviousley you will need experience with rebuilding....... but that go's unsaid.....right. Other spring rates are also available. You just need to specify what you want. I purchased my FLT-A2 set from Scott Belcastro at www.victoryperformance.com I had a very good buying experience dealing with Victory. I cant form an opinion yet as to if they are worth the money, but I will post my results after getting them installed and giving them a good workout. The greatest attribute to the JIC's is that no matter where your height is set at you can still have full suspension travel. A good thing for 2g owners who want a lowered ride height. I will say though, After doing some more reading even after purchasing, these are probably not for the regular guy. There is going to be some setting up to do to get these things performing perfect. They are 15 way adjustable for both front and rear and with the combination of an adjustable lower spring perch and separate adjustable height ability's they will most likely cause the majority of owners to want to rip there hair out during setup.
