Who makes good motor mount inserts? Are they all about the same? Road Race Engineering sells some for $23. I've seen Energy Suspension brand inserts other places for a few bucks more. Who's got what and are you happy with it? I'm trying to reduce wheel hop. Thanks!

They are great. They do exactly what they are supposed, and beleive it or not they arent as hard as some of the others out there:thumb:

There not terriable but you have more noticalbe vibration than ever b4..i bought the whole kit for my car for 90 guess i got ripped:( but i only put in the front and back.. you can really tell they work right at 5000 rpms.. heheh

Jim,

I got them at versus motorsports. There is only one branch and its run horribly. The employees steel from the owner and everything. You can actually haggle with them. If you are going to be at any meets or anything coming up here, Id go get some for you and bring em to you if you want. Its on the I-17 and Thomas...

Well I dont really have wheel hop in my car. In my hatch I did and they helped a LOT, i recommend them for FWD guys that are having problems with that...

Yes. I am scared that my wife will kick my a$$ if my car gets too out of control. She doesn't seem to understand that all the negatives are worth it to go fast. She already says that the exhaust is too loud and that the engine makes funny hissing sounds.

I heard that the 2 side mounts are a pain to get to and don't help much with wheel hop. Does anyone have a different opinion? I think I will go with the Energy Suspension or RRE ones since they sell just the 2. I can always add the sides later if I want. Does anyone know of any inserts to stay away from?

yea, i'm sick of hitting the gas in my car and hearing that jackhammer sound as my car shakes like a b!tch. are the mounts really that hard to replace? i've read that you need to just jack the engine up while you work and go at it, doesn't seem like it'd be an issue, but i have no personal experience.

Its not to hard.. on the front but the rear was a PITA for me... i had to shave down some of the new mount so it would fit in there.. uggh but no matter what the trouble its very much worth it.

Your car will vibrate. It is annoying. Even with just the front and rear mounts. At 2500 there is a ton of vibration and it will rattle your keys as they hang from the column. It annoys the hell out of me. And if you ever put cams in, the whole car shakes. Im not in to that. I like them docile. The upper mount by the cams causes the most vibration though. I now just run the front and rear mounts, but if I ever take the motor back out, I'll probably ditch them. Get rid of your wheel hop with tire pressure and ditch the motor mount idea ( if your a drivability freak like me ).

How long do u think it would take a shop to install new front and rear mounts w/ the inserts??

My front and rear mounts are screwed right now, so i ordered new mounts and the prothane inserts.

I heard the rear mount is a 4 hour job from satan, but any input would be apreciated.

How much do you think it should cost for install from a local import performance shop?

forget prothanes my car isnt making 600HP yet so i guess ill go with Energy Suspension. INFO on these anyone?
