I have the Baer sport big brake kit...the one with the 12" rotors instead of the 13" ones and im just curious as to which car these rotors match up with. I know that the 13" rotors are for an 88-96 ZR1 vette but even those dont have the same offset to fit onto a dsm bolt pattern. If anyone has had this similar issue let me know.
thanks
Mike

They may well be cut down 13's. Common practice on a number of their kits.

While I cannot help you on those exactly, if you were to opt to go two piece I'm sure we can match them up as I do a number of kits for their one piece units. Yes, more money but cheaper replacements for track users.

they very well could be cut down from 13's but the interesting part about it is that when you search for related posts people are making it sound like you can just buy ZR1 rotors and BAM they bolt on but that's not the case either....the bolt pattern isn't capatable. Please go ahead and shoot me a PM on how much it would cost for you to replicate these and maybe that could be my solution. thanks

I believe the 13" rotors are Cobra rotors. People seem to use those directly on DSM's, and the Baer calipers are the same as Cobra calipers (PBR I believe?).

I think you probably hit that right on the money. I know of a bunch of guys that have upgraded to the mustang cobra brakes. A direct bolt on but I believe its recommended to run hub centric rings.

The calipers are not a direct bolt-on, you need an adapter bracket, like the one Baer supplies. From what I hear you also need the Ford banjo bolt, but the 2g banjo fitting works. This is the setup I'm contemplating...

For the original poster, you could go to a rotor manufactgurer's site and look at their catalog to try to find something with the correct hub configuration, offset, diameter and thickness. www.dba.com.au used to have such a catalog, but it seems their site's in flux at the moment.

I was just refering to the rotors being a direct bolt on as thats what the origional posters question was about. I would hope most could figure out that with a larger rotor you are going to need some sort of caliper relocation bracket to make it work, but with some people I guess you never know :D

luckily i have the hub rings from the old rotors. I looked into the cobra rotor possibility and it seems that the last two generations of cobra's utilized a 13" rotor. Im going to look into the earlier cobra as i already have the baer kit with adaptor and caliper. I know that the rotors have to be off of some car i just cant figure out which. I doubt baer made special rotors for there 12" kits and not there 13's.
thanks

Alright so my quest has come to an end. After tons and tons of searching i just decided to call baer to see if they would give me the information i needed. It turns out that there 12inch kits are made using an in house machined rotor of some sort. Whether or not it came off of another car prior to the machining is still a mystery but the quote they gave me is 147 for the blank one piece version and 170 something for the slotted zinc plated version each. So i hope this helps anyone else who runs into this problem. Thanks for everyones help reguarding this.

Depending upon the offsets it's either a Vette or Mustang rotor cut down. I'm guessing Vette with a bit more hat offset.

I can do this one in any diameter someone wishes. 12 x 1.1 or 12.5 or 13". The hats are the same for all of them only the rotor diameter changes.

So yes I can do it also. Same $519pr price as some of the others I make. Not as cheap as the one piece but lesser cost replacement rings later and less weight as well as directional vaned, slotted and plated.

On the 2G I know the 12" BAER kit has a different offset than the Mustang rotor. I had originally designed by brackets for my 13" upgrade assuming the same offset, and had to fix the offset to match my Cobra rotors.

Unfortunately I didn't compare the 12" rotor to the C4 Corvette ones on my friend's car, but at least this adds more weight to them potentially being cut down vette rotors.

Todd, is this 2 piece rotor price valid for other offsets (Mustang Cobra in my case)? I assume that I can then ditch the rotor centering ring, and the wheel studs will be tight to this nice rotor hat?

The $539 price here should do exactly what you want.

I can do them on either the larger BC hat or the smaller one. For the 12" rotor I'd opt for the smaller hat. The larger one (Corner Carver hats) have sold out three times I've produced them for the Mustang guys....and I don't have any of them now. Only the smaller ones.

I can also do you the Wilwood hats for the Mustang perhaps and some custom rotors on them to OD spec. Or the standard Mustang one.

I can also use a TCE hat that's more universal in fit and custom size the rotor to your need.

In all but the TCE hat however you'll end up keeping the centering ring plan as the hat bore is 2.8" for the 'stang.

I'd rather you dbl check your stock rotor offset to be certain this is what you need but I believe I can cover you.
