im gonna go with some TEIN lowering spring for my GSX, because theyre priced right and TEIN is famous for thier suspension systems. plus i can put them on using my stock shocks..bc i cant afford aftermarket ones :| will having the stock shocks have any effect on the proposed lowering of 1.5inches? and will i need a camber kit? if anyoen has these springs on their ride, lmk how ya like em :dsm: :thumb:

yeah, youre stock shocks wont last longer than a couple months. since youre lower your shocks will constantly be compressed. people who do things like this will be riding on bumpstops in a few months and wonder why their springs suck ass and theyre bouncing in the car and hitting their head on the roof. do it right the first time.

and i think any lower than 1" and you need to invest in a camber kit. though i have seen people with 18's tucked into the wheel well without camber kits and the wheels be perfectly straight, and then ive seen cars with the stock rims and 2" drop and severly need a Kit.

i have Tien H-Techs and Tokico Illuminas on my car, and i love it. 1" drop all the way, just enough to make it look and handle 100x better, but not too much to make me fear speed bumps and supermarket exits.

Which Teins fit AWD/Turbo? They seem to list the FWD only. I have a Talon TSI/AWD. :talon:

That and Tein are known for being... er.. 'twitchy'. And overpriced, compared to the... stuff.. you get. You'd be better off with some B+G, or Eibach Sportlines if you've got the scratch.

the Tein S-Tech is a good spring. We use them all kinds of cars and we think they work very well. A drop like that though will indeed kill your stock shocks pretty quickly. If anythin get yourself a set of KYB Gr2 or something inexpensive so that you don't bounce around all over the place.

hi.. i have the tein s type on mine now.. and i am running kyb gr2 they suck!!!!!!!!>. too soft for my opinion. if you wan a good spring that runs corners get eibach if you do wan to get soft springs get this but! and only BUT! run them with either tokico illuminias or koni yellow or blisttien do not i repeat do not run them to any shocks that are design for stock replacement including kyb gr2. my 02 later

i think its the GR2's you were running.

you should do what i have, tiens and illuminas. you want stiff? set the illuminas to 5(stiffest). right now i run 3 front and 4 in the back. its toight like a toiger(goldmember).

i too was going to go with eibachs, but i heard they sag after a while and they dont help as much as one would expect for a spring. but i guess its all in what you believe. i heard teins/illuminas were the way to go for around 600$ from reputable members, so thats what i went with. one thing i did NOT want was some cheap ass bouncy spring that made me bounce like a honduh on ebay coilovers.

I have tein S-techs on stock shocks and they make the car look great. The drop isn't too severe I think it is just right. I have had them on for 3 months now and no problems. Yes I KNOW i need to get some shocks, I just don't have the money. I only had enough for springs and a camber kit.

Many of you are breaking one of the basic rules of handling upgrades: the shocks are more important than the springs. If you cannot afford to do both and refuse to wait until you can, then you should be replacing your shocks, not your springs.
