Who's finally found a happy suspension setup through trial and error? I'm looking into investing into my suspension but want to avoid as much trial and error as possible. Any ideas are helpful.

Can you be a little more specific ?

What's your budget - $100, $1,000, $10,000 ?

Do you drag race, road race, autocross, drive to work ?

Race tyres, good street tyres, weak street tyres ?

What are your local roads like - pot-hole-ridden like New England or race-track perfect like Deal's Gap ?

What are you looking to achieve with your new suspension ?

Just a decent riding street , lowered suspension system around $500-600 max

"Decent", "lowered", and "$600 max" are mutually exclusive terms.

If you have read through http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169955 and have really decided that your goal is street handling and your budget is $600, then I'd get Tokiko Illuminas with either ProKit (not Sportline) springs or H&R OE Sport (not Race) springs. (I don't know enough about the Tokiko Illuminas-with-springs kit or the Tein H-tech springs, so I won't say yes or no to these [yet].) And before you ask, I know that OE Sports are supposed to be for FWD only, but they work on all 2Gs.

While doing the install, shim your rear camber back down to about 1 or 1.25 degrees and then go get an alignment.

ps. if any vendors are listening: you could do everyone - including yourself - a great favor by measuring exactly how much spacing is needed to get a 2G on ProKits back down to 1 to 1.25 degrees rear camber and offering the bolts and correct number/amount of washers as a free extra when someone buys new shocks with ProKits; this could save people from having to get two alignments, so you could claim it as being worth $50
