D2 Racing Coilovers

I was really intrigued by that post too. I'd like to know more about these coilovers as well- some opinions of any kind would be great.

these have been pretty damn good for us all across the board. The 1g ones aren't in the country at the moment but i got a few on the way. They are a really nice part though, they offer a super aggressive feel but can be adjusted to each tuners preferance.

Glad to see you in this thread Martin. I just sent you an email a few minutes ago. I wanted to know if these coilovers would fit FWD 1Gs as well as the AWD models. I figured it might be a good idea to post this question in this thread as well incase anyone else was wondering the same thing. Thanks...

D2 does not make a set for the AWD but we are working with them as we speak to get both 1g and 2g AWD versions made. I should have more updates come monday but it will take a few weeks to finish. I know they are working on it as we speak.

So the ones they have developed for 1Gs will definitely fit FWDs? If so, this is probably the best news I've heard in a looooong time.

oh yeah the 1g's we have are bolt on for 1g FWD N/A and Turbo. I didn't know how many people would want the 1g ones so i only got like 1 or 2.

the 1g versions actually have camber adjustment plates built in unlike the 2g which standard upper mounts.

Just curious on the spring rates of the D2 coilovers as well- sorry to bombard you with these questions, but the mroe I think about them the more I want to know.

I just wanted to clarify a few things about these coilovers in the thread so that others could jump in and read up. Does the damper allow for independent compression and rebound adjustment? Since the 1Gs come with camber plates do they also come with pillow ball mounts (at no extra charge?) as the website suggests? Also, the OTS spring rates seem pretty high- if we were to order something softer would this throw off the valving- can the OTS valving support say a 7kg front/ 5kg rear setup, or can the valving be altered to compensate for such a difference? I think a speak for a great deal of us when I say that we 1G owners (especially FWD owners who don't have the Tein SS available) want a decently priced coilover kit that will perform well in corners and allow for enough adjustability to drag, but not be too stiff for street use. I know this sounds like a dreamt up scenario but I know I'm looking for the coilover setup that will get me the closest to that as I can find, and I'm hoping that this kit will be it. Thanks again for being involved in this thread and providing us with all this info...

Hmm what are the standard spring rates for say a 2g awd?
Plz respond in lbs as I always get confused with 8's and 5's .

thank you in advance. :thumb:

ok, sorry i didn't get a chance to chime in sooner.......

1. the 1g setup comes with pillow balls up front with camber adjustment.

2. the 1g Spring Rate is 7/5 standard

3. valving can be adjusted safely within 1 to 2 kg.

4. Custom spring rates are available but will take a few days to get.

5. 2g Uses standard upper mounts (tein or other camber plates can be integrated)

6. AWD setups are in the works but are not available just yet. If you are interested in the AWD please email me at [email protected] just to let me know how many people are actually interested.

i hope that this answers your questions.

Also yes we can ship to canada but these boxes are huge and weigh a whole lot so there is an additional cost to ship to our brothers to the north.

Thanks for the space :thumb: :dsm:

prostreetdsmx1, I just want to verify 2 things-

Earlier in this thread you said that the OTS spring rate for the 1Gs was 11kg front/9kg rear, but in the last post you said it was 7 kg front/5kg rear- which one is the actual rate the D2s come with out of the box? And if they are 7/5 rates, is this a high enough spring rate to support a 3" drop or will there be some problems with bottoming out with such a soft spring rate?

Also, I though I read in another forum's thread that these coilovers have adjustbale shock body lengths to maximize supsension travel even at a very low ride height (like the JIC coilovers)- is this true?

Thanks again...
