Whats the diff between in shocks, struts, and springs? Are they interchangable or what? I was wanting to get the KYG adjustable shocks and the Eibach sport kit is this possible. Any help would be appreciated. Also, what comes stock on our cars, struts?
 
Springs, are the major absorbers of "shock" from the road surface. The springs job is to absorb the majority of it. But, they are mainly effective with big bumps, and not small stuff. So when you hit that pot hole, your springs work good, and even a lot of it out. But when you come to the patches in the freeway, there isn't much change in the road surface, so the springs don't do much. (remember it takes a lot of force to compress a spring) That is where the dampeners take over. The dampeners do exactly what their name suggests, they dampen. :) They dampen the smaller stuff that springs aren't sensitive enough to pick up. This is why it's necessary to have damper rates and springs rates that correspond with each other, or else you get some nasty gaps that increase wear/stress, and make the ride harsh.

Struts and shocks are dampeners. They are ment to reduce the occilations of the springs, thus making the ride smoother, and making for more contact with the ground.

Shocks are put between two points of the suspension components to dampen the vibrations, and othewise have no major effect on the suspension. They are just there to dampen, the do not have to be there for the suspension to work.

Whereas, struts are an integral part of the suspension component. The struts are the base of the suspension, they are the pivot points of the steering wheels, and hold the springs, along with dampen, like a shock, and hold alignment. (camber/caster)
 
the gr2's are like factory the KYB AGX's are a lot better and customizable.
