I've got 18x7.5 i'm selling my rims and for another set that i like better and i want to put a 8.5 on it but not sure if i can. so need to know how wide a rim I can go?
 
Wheels are easy to fit. Tires take more consideration. 8.5" wheels will fit with no problem at all. Fitting 235 or 245 tires requires correct offset. I recommend you do some research but you will want to be in the +35 - 40 mm offset range.
