I'll be needing a brake upgrade here in the next few months. I still have the stock 16inch wheels and plan on keeping them. I'm definately upgrading from these crappy single piston calipers I have now. From searching, it seems as though not a lot of guys are spending the $$$ on the big brake upgrades. Here's my plan. Buy dual piston reman calipers from www.diamondstarmotorsport.com for 260 dollars for the front pair. Buy powerslot rotors for the front, 122 dollars for the pair at www.horsepowerfreaks.com. Then throw on the Hawk brake pads for 58 bux for the front, also from horsepowerfreaks. That puts me around 440 dollars. Then, if money isn't an issue, throw on some Goodridge ss lines from slowboyracing for an extra 109 dollars. I don't do any auto x of sort and don't go to the track that often. This would mainly be for the street. Opinions? Thanks guys.

I too am considering doing the 2 piston caliper upgrade, new rotors (probably cross drilled brembo's), stainless brake lines, and Hawk pads. And I too drive a 1990...my rotors are so warped it is not even funny, LOL. The car feels like it is stopping like Brian's Eclipse in the Fast and Furious...I feel like it is going to go sideways or something, LOL.

My question is, I am looking at the caliper kit you listed from diamondstar, and I am wondering if this is a direct bolt on to our 1990 cars. Here at Vfaq: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BigBrakesInfo.html

It is listed that, in order to do the big caliper upgrade, shimming hardware as well as the hub to caliper mounting brackets are needed. Are the Diamond star motorsports calipers made to bolt right up to our stock 1990 brackets, or will we need to find 1993+ brackets to make them fit?
