difference between coil overs and springs?

coilovers use springs. coilovers are just an adjustable bracket on the bottom of the spring which allows you to lower and raise the spring, thus lowering/raising the car. springs will only let you lower the car a certain amount. If you want to lower more than 2 inches (which is what most of the springs will lower the car), then go with coilovers. they're more expensive, but work the same.

-Beside lowering your car, coil-over set up also allow you to fine tune your suspension, b/c most C/O use standard 2.25" diameter springs which come in various length and rate.
