Hahaha 45 minutes north of San Antonio if you drive 50mph.... I've made it to SA from Austin many times in just under an hour.
I live in Dallas now, and I never see any dsm's in Austin... I know they're there, but I don't ever see them because I think they're hiding from all the stoned hippies that swerve.

Hey, just moved to SA from California. I'm lookin' for a shop too. I usually do as much work as I can also, but it's nice to have a backup... Where's the hangout? I've heard Best Buy, but there's like 5 of them.

Yea I am in San Antonio. It used to be the best buy on 410 right next to Ingram Mall, but cops were always busting it up. Now there are signs up and me and a friend went yesterday and nobody was there except for a few people also wondering where everybody was. Guess they all found another place to go to.
I am also in need of a shop capable of doing a headgasket replacement as I have white smoke constantly coming out of the exhuast. Any shop updates for san antonio besides going through mitsubishi?

Did anyone in SA buy a car from a guy in Austin that was a black 1g awd talon... looked like the paint was sanded?
I have a feeling my brother's old car he sold is in south Texas somewhere now, he sold it to a guy in Austin, I already tried asking in the Austin thread.... we had a lot of good times in that car and I was wondering how it was doing today, any info would be awesome.

Not when we had it it. It looked like a stock 1ga talon that has the spoiler that "wraps" all the way to the doors... and i think the paint was the original black. It had those "comic book" gray dots around the bottom of the car. And it didn't have a gm-maf when we had it.... and I think the interior was gray cloth. It looked like a real beater, but that car was pretty awesome. It just needed a little love in the engine compartment and I know whoever bought it probably took care of that.

GSXSpeeddemon was talking about my car. It was primer gray prior to primer black. The gray primer that was shot on it, flaked off due to bad spraying and prep. Wingless, badgeless, 92 TSI AWD with 79k original miles 6/4 bolts.

Hmmm, I sure hope that car my brother sold didn't end up wrecked or impounded or something... maybe just maybe, it's actually sitting in someone's driveway/garage broken... hahaha. Dsm's seem to love doing that. Anyway, if anyone has any info on the car I described, please let me know, I'm interested.
I believe one or both of the door panels were missing, the interior was gray. The shift knob was a metal ball and I think it may have had a short throw kit in it as well. Also, the boost gauge was mounted right next to the shifter boot. If anyone has seen this car or owns it, let me know.

Im in SA as well. The shop that I know of told me that I need a new tranny and all sorts of stuff. After some of my own research I found out that it was the clutch chattering or something of the sort. Now I do my own work on my car as well. What is it that you need help on, maybe some one here has the knowledge to help you out.

Hey guys and girls, I wanted to let you all know that there's a big event coming up here in Dallas. It would probably be worth the trip, it's only a couple hours drive. Anyway, anyone interested, check out this thread.
