Hi there, I purchased a used Fireball ignition for my 1992 auto car. The problem I've having is it came with a Tach adapter unit and not the electronic trigger shown in the instructions. After I found the instructions online, I see Crane specifies that all 91-95 need an "electronic trigger" unit in order to function. I believe the guy I bought it from must have had it in a 1990 car. After doing a little searching (not much out there on the HI6-2), I've read the trigger unit isn't needed? I think I saw this while reading through some wiring instructions for a MSD unit, so I don't know if it applies to my scenario. Any help is appreciated, I really want to get this installed so I can stop using the stock fuel cut rev limit for launching my auto.
One other thing that the instructions are a little unclear about is the wiring at the ignition module? Can be found on page 5 of the attached pdf.
In the circled portion of the wiring diagram below, am I supposed to intercept (bypass the igintion module) pins 1, 2 and 3 or am I just supposed to tap into them? Then do I leave pins 4-8 alone and connected? Thanks again for any help.
