2g awd tranny. How many splines ??

i have a little problem here and dont know exactly what to do. I have a 95 tsi awd and need a transmission and transfer case, but i dont know how many splines i need. i am told that all 2g's are 23 spline. but i beg to differ. I counted on my driveshaft 21 spaces. and also i need to know if that is the same with all other 95 tsi awd's .

hey, I believe the splines to count are the one on the output shaft from the TRANSMISSION, not the DRIVESHAFT
