Ok I call auto zone today and they are telling me the clutch slaves are different between turbo and nonturbo. Does anyone know if this is true? The turbo one is around $16 and the N/T 2.0 slave is $48!! I want to know if I can use the turbo slave on my N/T
Thanks

i have the cheap one on both a 91 n/t and a 90 turbo and cant see any difference, like in that picture. mine both look like the bottom turbo picture. what year is that top one?

The picture came out of a 2G manual, but it shouldn't matter on that piece of hardware.

Yea it should DAm wiseman

the non0turbo in that pic is a chrystler motor so of course none of ud 1G are gonna have that setup, he is asking about the 1G's whats the difference in the slave's here?

yeah, ive not seen a 1G thats setup like that picture. i believe that you can use the turbo one on all of them. well, i know you can cause im doing it. it doesnt make sense, though. you'd think the turbo one would be higher

I just priced one out at the dealer and it is 212 canadian retail, which is actually cheaper than some aftermakets I priced. A rebuild kit is not much but my master is getting pitted.

The difference between the two is the size of the bore in the slave cylinder . One is 3/4" and the other is 13/16". I beleive the non turbo one is 3/4".

so in oither words just buy the cheap one and forget about it. i couldnt tell any pedal difference between the two

There are differences between the two.

Bore difference will make a ratio change in the hydraulics. Putting a N/T slave on the turbo will make the pedal heavier. How much? Around 5-8 lbs.

The location at which the banjo fitting connects to the slave is different between the two. Thus the line routing is different. If you don't want to bend up your stock line, you might want to get the correvt slave.

the banjo fitting is not in a different spot, cause i took the stock one off and put the turbo one on. and by what you're saying, my pedal should now be lighter since i have a n/t? the pedal has not changed a bit. i agree there is probably some internal difference, but i cant tell it. definately not that much moneys worth, thats why i tried it. they're physically identical.

Actually, what I was thinking of for a "turbo" was the AWD version. AWD to FWD the lines and banjo location are different. FWD turbo to FWD N/T, they are the same. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it'll be lighter. Subjectively, it usually takes more than 5 lbs for someone to notice the ratio difference. YOu may or may not be able to pickup on the difference.
