I'm sure this is a stupid question but once you get a clutch like a act 2900, when the clutch goes out is the pressure plate still good? I mean I've heard that if you pull your tranny for something like a rebuild that if you don't replace all the clutch that it wont last very long. Basicaly can you just replace the disk when it goes bad or is it best to get another clutch kit?

depends on the wear, i would generally recomend replacing all the stuff while your at it if you don't like to take the trans off and put it back on alot

i would buy a kit and replace the pressure plate, disk, and throw out bearing, just because a kit saves you some money(overall) and if one thing is bad its usually because of time and abuse, so the other stuff is wearing out to (i also would recomend replacing the pivot ball and shifter fork if they have a good deal of miles on them)

as for a act 2900, i wouldn't recomend this clutch unless u wanna break records(and your leg) i would stick with the 2600 for cars up to 375 hp(maybe even 425 depending on how often you have your foot in the peddle)

I REALLY wouldn't use a 2900 on a FWD car. Lots of stuff would break IMO.

I was just using the 2900 as an example.;) I have a masterclutch. Not really sure what size though. Just from what I think it might be a 2600. The clutch was installed before I got the car in march. I do belive that the clutch is only a year old and I will have to pull the tranny soon so I was just wondering how far with the clutch I should go.:thumb:
