My Dad and I spent all day putting in my rebuilt tranny. Finally got it all back together...and as I let the clutch out, theres a buzzing, grinding type noise as it engages. The car moves, but not in sync with the engine. We used the clutch alignment tool, bt it seems like the input shaft of the tranny isnt totally engaged with the engine.
please help:( :barf:

working all day and i was looking forward to boosting around w/ a butter smooth tranny

ok, during the tranny rebuild, it was found that the output shaft was badly worn..."close to leaving me stranded" Since the tranny bolted up to the engine nice and smoothly, I'm thinking that maybe the transfer case was very badly worn and the new output shaft just tore up the remaining teeth of the transfer case. This explains the noise and the car not moving in sync with the engine. I plan on taking out the transfer case for a lil inspection. Does this seem logical? Any experience with something like this?
thanks, Andy

the transfer case was wasted!!!. Thank God the output shaft is only showing minimal wear from the grinding. The t-case has no teeth at all--I have no idea how it was holding together before the rebuild.
