1G Viscous Coupling Eliminator on the street?

I run a TRE spool, which eliminates the spider gears in the center diff, and eliminates the VC. I drive quite a bit on the street, but I haven't had it long enough to notice any unusual tire wear problems. Although I can "feel" a difference when making low speed manuvers, especially in tight spots (parking lots, driveways, etc..), the comprimise pays off on the line at the strip. The car launches very well, and there is ZERO chance of breaking a the C. Diff.

Remember though, the reason the C.Diff can't break now is not because of the VCE, it's because of the spool inside the C.Diff. The VCE that comes with the spool kit just holds the output shaft in place.

With out the spool there will be lots of force on the C. diff when launching right. So it is more likely to break with the VCE without the spool.

Or what I mean is. There is more of a chance the C. diff will break with the VCE installed than without it installed.

Humm... I'm not sure. My VCE came in the kit with the spool. I never considered running it without the spool. If you really want to lock the C.Diff, the Spool is the easiest, cheapest, and most indestructable way, IMO.
