shifter rebuild kit

i saw the bushings on dsmparts.com or whatever the site was and i remember that vfaq with the shifter rebuild using the washers. should i go with that kit or should i pick up some washers? and if i get the washers what size should i get?

ok im missed on the vfaq that you need 4 1" with 5/16" hole washer, but i want to know what exactly to put in to fix the play

That's not a "rebuild", it's to stiffen (or eliminate) the rubber mounts the gearchange mechanism mounts on. And, to bring more noise into the passenger compartment.
Getting a kit will more than save you its cost in dicking with getting all the right stuff together.

I've heard many good comments about it, I've not gotten around to trying it. I have put in a B&M Short Shifter, and that was amazing enough for me. Excellent stuff, worth the high cost, and a very real difference.
Bushing replacement would be a much smaller difference, but also a lot less expensive.

I just bought them becasue My old bushing ripped and satin wanted me to buy a new cable. But they work nice even though my tranny shifts like shit right now.
