limits of the 3-bolt rear end

is there any rule or thumb as when to replace the 3 bolt with a 4-bolt rear, or is it just something i should plan on doing when i finally break the 3-bolt?

just do it when it breaks (if it does)...they are strong and have seen low 12's and plenty of 1.7 60ft's

went 11.2 on a stock 3 bolt rear .. broke 5 axles trying...

you could run 1000 whp on a 3 bolt, you just can't launch it.
