Launching with ACT 2600

What's the best way to launch on the drag strip. I have an ACT 2600 with 6 puck disc and PhantomGrip. I would like to know what's the best tchnique. My previous 12.4 sec. run was on a really lame launch. How can I improve on it?
My mods are on my profile (I usually race at 25 psi)

Definitely need to see the whole breakdown of the run to get an idea of what was happening in each stage. Also, an explanation of how you launched it on that run would help.

My 60' was 1.98 if I'm not mistaken....which I know is really bad. Tires were Marshall Power Racer II (235-45ZR17, traction AA, temp. AA). My launch on that run, loked like a roll on...I got the revs up to about 2000 rpm and left of the clutch easily while giving it gas, so I didn't get to much wheelspin. After I got moving I floored it, shifting at 8000 rpm. I have the APEX'i AVC-D boost controller, which is adjustable at 3000, 5000 and 7000rpm, so is there a particular set up on the boost controller that you will recomend. It also has a speed control, which you can set up so it doesn't make boost until you reach a certain speed.
Thanks

you want 11's?

Get the goopiest front meats you can find. like M/T wrinkle walls or something to that effect.
Start w/ 8psi. with the front tires I described, you can now really RIDE the clutch.

Second gear 12psi, smooth it out now, If you need to feather it, keep doing so.

Third gear is When you hook, so full boost will suffice.

Powershift fourth, by keeping the gas pinned and shifting as fast as possible w/o lifting.

The theme is tracion, because of FWD, but with these tricks you should be able to bust a high 11 w/ some C-16.
GOOD LUCK!

Hey, thanks for the advice...I will definetely keep it in mind....but since my boost controller is rpm dependant, what would you recommend: 8 psi at 3000rpm, 12 psi at 5000rpm and fool boost at 7000 rpm; with the speed dependant boost limiter set to about 20 mph (after 20 she starts making boost)??
Any recommendation on street tires (any particular brand)
Thanks

First off, 1.98 60' in a GS-T isn't bad. Most GS-T drivers I know would drool for a 60' < 2.0. As for the boost, I would keep the first point low, but blast the other two. If you want to use the speed dependant system, 20 might work, but expect to tune it a little (that might be a little higher than you want). As for tires, can't help you. I'm an autox kinda guy when it comes to suspension. I wouldn't recommend the power shifting thing until you get a TRE tranny, or a few stocks on a trailer waiting to drop in. I've tried power shifting and never to success, same for everyone I know down here. I've bent a shift fork, burnt two clutches (weren't stong enough anyway), ground off two synchros (both 2nd). As long as you don't have lag problems between shifts, you don't need it. Get a short shifter (I recommend B&M) and just practice shifting quick. What was your 1/8 mile ET, 1/8 trap (if available), and end trap? That is what you will want to tune your middle and upper boost levels to. Keep pushing it until you either don't see a time difference, or you lose traction. That's about all I can think of right now, good luck.
