N/t Tranny In A Gst

WOULD A N/T TRANNY FROM A GEN 1 WORK IN A TURBO GEN ONE??

anyone have that picture of the keyboard with the caps lock zoomed in on?

anyway, im not an expert on trannys but im pretty sure it will fit but it wont be good for performance. the gears are stronger on a turbo tranny and if you have mods on it im pretty sure youll mess up a NT trans pretty quick.

2 things...
1) N/T tranny has held 300HP by Mavisky (n/t to turbo converter).
2) You'll need a new flywheel and clutch related components.

i read in a haynes manual that the turbo and non turbo trannies are one in the same (the 4g63 trannies anyway) then would i still need the flywheel and clutch

you need the flywheel and clutch, theres a size difference. i dunno bout it being weaker, might be an assumption due to diff in power.

The N/T tranny is plenty strong. Just different gearing and clutch/flywheel. I turbo'd my N/T and the tranny is holding up perfectly.

The shorter gearing is nice for acceleration but it can make traction even more of an issue.
