Second Gear Messed UP!

Hey guys well i dont know if this is the tranny 100% but anyway lemmie know what you think. At high rmp, when switching from first to second it grinds, and has done so for a while. but within the past two weeks, my car doesnt let me downshift from third to second. i can go from third to first to second, but i cant go from third to second, sometimes it will let me if i give it gas while the clutch is in, but not all the time. since this started, i put in a symborski shifter kit, and also today i just put in gm synchromesh. i dont know if the prob is gonna go away, but i doubt it. anyway if you think its my tranny how much you think to get another one and to put it in? thanks.

also, if i do give it a little gas and i put it in from third to second it seems to go in like butter.

so does that mean i need a complete rebuild? or what should i do?

also, if i dont shift fast from 1st to second it wont grind, like if i put the clutch in and wait a sec then put it in its okay, another thing, if i am doenshifting from third to second but instead of going third to second i go from third and attemp to go into first pushing against the gear then go to second it goes in SO nicely, like better than any other of my gears. if i start to take apart my tranny myself i am gonna need a hoist right? and after taking it apart is it possible to just order the certain parts that need fixin or should the whole thing be rebuilt?

Check you clutch adjustment. How far off the floor is the pedal before the car starts to move, it should be about half way. If your clutch is adjusted properly then I would say it is the synchros. You don't need a hoist to pull the tranny. I would not attempt the rebuild on your own. Send it to TRE, Shep, or BM tranny. You will probably want to get the double synchro 2nd gear upgrade while you are at it.

i am gonna have to get it done somewhere in the city here, i dont have enough money to get it sent out to one of those guys. and plus i dont really wanna put oo much money in it anyway cause its fwd.

k well since on one can help me ill just bring it to a mechanic and get a rebuild. thanks anyways guys.
