Tranny to motor Q...

If I were to get a 6-bolt longblock, either a JDM or rebuilt USDM, would my 96 TSi AWD tranny bolt up or would I have to worry about the spline count on my AWD tranny? I'm not quite sure what spline count I have at the moment.

Let's narrow the question down....if I were to get a 90-92 6 bolt turbo block, would my 96 AWD tranny bolt up to it? THanks.

Yeah it will.

Does it matter that the block was from a FWD or AWD? Or is it as simple as changing the flywheels out, etc.?

No it doesn't matter if it was AWD or FWD, as long as you have AWD 6-bolt flywheel, it will fit your car.
