X-Fer case IS it Fubared? pixz

Hey as you all know i just got my JDM clip, and here is a site showing damage pics,

i am curious, what could the damage be to the output of the Xcase, if the shield is bent and moved up, and its leaking fluid,

i think the shield goes around the casting, so would that have to be cracked to allow damage to the seal?

Well I know I may not be of much help but I have an X-case (23plsine) and an oil pan for sale...

if you want to fix your problem just pull out the propeller shaft (make sure to make alignment marks on the flange yoke and diff flange). Get a flat head and pop out the oil seal (which is prolly why its leaking) and replace it...

yes, Its leaking, does the Recall inlude the JDM Transfercases? are they even Diffrent?

if its just a seal do it, but wouldnt you rather have a whole new one?!?!?!?!?!

Was there a driveshaft in it when you were checking for leaks? They are SUPPOSED to leak if there's no driveshaft in the transfer case. The seal in the driveshaft yoke is what causes the whole leaky transfer case problem 99% of the time.

Just bend the shield back. If it doesn't leak with a shaft in it, its fine. If it leaks, you're best off getting a new yoke and a new seal for the transfer case or even a new transfer case.
