First i tried searching and didn't find much on what i need.. i have a leaking t-case at the yoke and call up the dealer for a recall but, my question is will the dealer honor my recall if i have some modification on it...? has anyone taken their car in for a recall with mod. please let me know i am taking my's in next week..

I think they'll do it. Mine was done before I bought it and I'm almost positive that it had mods when it went in. The dealer should'nt care anyway, cuz they get paid from the manufacturer either way.

My talon is going into the dealers to have the recalls done next week( also to O2 sensor, seat belts and the timing belt) which ..by law have to be done regardless of the owner or age

If you get the dealer to you it will leak in 6 months any ways, They half ass it. They replace the sleave in the transfer case , not the yoke in the drive shaft. Ive see it happen a few times.

It takes 30 minutes to do it your self.

2 down pipe bolts
exhaust rubber mounts wiggled off
6 transfer case bolts
slide transfer case off drive shaft
replace worn items and bamm your done, your car isnt gone for 50 days sitting in a shop parking lot and you did something for your self.

Down pipes can be a bi*** if never removed in the past so get some PB blaster and googles.LOL

Over all cost cant be more then $25 and an hour till your hands are clean.

I wish I would have done it last time instead of getting my car back with a new key because they broke it in the colum, thats a bonus.

well i just put in another tranny and while i was at it i replaced all the seal that i can see... so it still leak... i can see my redline all over and around the yoke... well i guess its safe to take it in then.... thanks guys..

well my tranny just completely blew upand i am hinting towards the transfer case leaking. im going to ask a specialist but no news yet. but does anybody know if i have any actions against mitsubish for the recall?
i want to know if they would fix my car. thanks alot by kyle

If you'll read most of the transfer case leakage stories you'll see that transmission destruction is not one of the normal problems associated with a failing/failed transfer case. You can try to sue the dealer or the manufacturer but you'll probably lose your case and here's why.

You know/knew your transfer case was leaking. If it was covered under the recall and you still didn't replace it then it's your own fault for not doing so. If it was no longer covered by the recall and you didn't replace it knowing that it was leaking... it's still your fault for not fixing the car or parking it until repairs could be made.

They will recall it no matter of modifications. Mine's getting done (again) as I type this. When I pulled into the dealership they heard my idle and were like "WTF that's an eclipse?!" :)

Turns out the whole transfer case assembly was shot, so they are installing a new one as well!

What is all recalled? Does it matter when you take your car in and how do they know if it is already done?

It's all on computer, the recalls that have been done to your car. They will check by VIN Number.
