Well, a few weeks ago I changed all the major fluids in my car and now my transfer case is leaking just in front the universal joint and it looks like it is coming out of the yoke guard area. I guess the BG Syncroshift was too thin for my older seals.

I brought it to satin and they said it is the “output shaft oil seal” and does not appear to be a problem with the brass yoke seal, and therefore it is not covered by the safety recall. They charged me $37.50 for the inspection because it was not the yoke seal and $9.00 for the seal that is needed.

When the seal comes in they want $125.00 labor to put it on. I think I will just go ahead and have them do it in case it is the yoke seal… Maybe then they can eat the whole job! What do you think?

Anyone here with a similar experience?

I have same problem with my car too. I found there is a dsm faq that tells you how to fix the end yoke leak.
If it is just the seal you can probley do it yourself in a hour .
