1G NT to Turbo swap

I have been offered a 1G chassis in good condition with a blown motor. It is a NT. I was wondering what I would need to swap a turbo engine into it. Would the NT tranny work on the turbo engine, as well as the ECU. The car will not be an every day driver, so wiring will be custom done as well as every creature comfort removed. Basicly I just want to know what is compatable from the 1 engine to the other, and most importantly do I need a new tranny as well.

You will need the new tranny along with the fly wheel, starter, and clutch. The NT trany will not last long on the turbo engine. The wiring hardness can stay, the turbo computer will plug right in. Just add the knock sensor to the engine, you will find that the plug is already there for it. Just remember that there are some other stuff that you will have to change to make it work properly. Injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump.

Just let me know if you have any other ?. I just converted my 93 laser to turbo. Did a 90 engine swap to take advantaged of the bigger rods and is a better block.

You can use a N/A 4G63 tranny but you have to grind off the location dowl to use the turbo flywheel. It would also be best to get an upgraded clutch with this setup or it might not last to long. I have even read some where that the N/A trannys are better geared any how. This is simply hear say. Good Luck
