I just got my 1990 laser and I need some help my motor revs very high before the car will shift. I have to get this fixed soon. Can somebody hepl me?

sounds like your clutch is not gripping well. slipping clutch sucks a** :(

Im assuming you have an auto because you said you have to rev the engine to get it to shift, its hard to try and diagnose auto problems without putting a scanner and a psi gauge on the trans, so you should bring your car to a shop that can do this, prefferably a trans shop general repair shops dont do enough trans work to make the right diagnosis especially imports.

hey laser, do you have an auto or 5 speed??? what you said was a little confusing, since you said your motor revs before your car shifts. it's your clutch if your motor revs before it catches the gear you just shifted to.

It's a 4-speed auto with overdrive which is not working. I think it needs a rebuild kit but I can't find one. Any help would be helpful. thanks.
