One of the things i liked more about my stealth twin turbo was the really tall gears. My dsm feels like i'm shifting on an 80cc two stroke.

Is it possible to run the auto trans front diff in the manual, or at least just switch the gears off of the diff? The auto has a higher rear end ratio, but i know i would need to match the front to it. I am not a newb, i have built many w5mg1, w6mg1, and w5m33's.
But, i have never been past the end case on an awd auto dsm trans.
 
Other than the taller EVOIII 1st gear and 5th I don't know of any other way to make it taller. All of the other final drive gear ratios I have seen for the DSM are shorter. Autos are a totally different animal.

Thanks, that was what i was looking for. I know about the evo shorter rear ends and front diffs, but was wondering if the taller auto setup could work. I like the spacing of the dsm gears, they are just all to short. I would really like to look into getting a bellhousing made for a w5mg1 to bolt up to a dsm, no more broken 3rd and 4th gear, ever. Not to mention 120+ in 3rd gear.
 
Your talking about making it RWD just for a tranny that won't break?

First off a getrag w5mg1 is an all wheel drive transmission out of a 91-93 3000gt/stealth. Second i'm about ready to do anything to not keep breaking transmissions. One member on here is on transmission 17 right now. After about 400-450 ft/lbs it's not if, but when.
 
Very true, I'd be willing to try to get it to work as well. Whats wrong with a 1g auto trans anyway?

Hey jack do you have the dimensions of both of those bellhousings? If it needs to be spaced correctly you could make your own bellhousing instead of an adapter, if it would be funky the way it bolts up. IE too offset to one side.
