hey.. im gonna start pullin my 1g AWD tranny tonight or tomorrow to fix the clutch spring.. any suggestions for what will make it easier or anything??????

1) Beer
2) Air tools
3) Naked girls to comfort you when things go wrong
4) make sure you know how everythign goes back together
5) organize all of your bolts
6) have patience when putting it back in when aligning becomes a pain
7) more Beer
8) nice how shower afterwards

dont the calipers off of the hubs, just take the little bolt out of the back of the strut tower so it can hang on the lower arm.

DONT directly pull on the axle shafts.

beer...

its a ##### to pry out the snapped in passengerside drive axle.

use jackstands so you dont get 'teh crush'

have some buddies to help put the thing back in place

Fill everything you drained once your done.

easy enough, you'll get used to doing it where its second nature. :)

so i understand i need some beer.. seeing im only 16 ahahahahahahahah ill get some jolly good... jus messin that stuff is nasty.. anyways.... one other thing is either my 1st gear syncro i think is gone... it grinds like there no tomorrow going into 1st.. i might consider also taking my tranny apart.. and ill look out for "the drop" haahahahahah

you'll need some specific parts if your gona take apart your tranny... i wouldnt recomend trying to take out your syncro unless you know what your doing and you have:

bearing press and accessories like a bearing plate, brass hammer, holdin pin punch/drift, circular wedge punch, brass drift, brass hammer, instruction book, parts cleaner.... its not an easy deal capiche? but if your contemplating about buying a second one from someone, dont be scared - theres only one way to learn besides spending 20 grand to go to tech school... and thats to get out there and just DO IT.
