f5m22 and f5m33

eclipse GS: 1.8 liter with the 22 modle 5 speed
the 22 modle also came in a few other mitsu cars with the 1.8s...
eclipse GS: 2.0 liter with the 33 modle 5 speed
eclipse GS-T: 2.0 liter with the 33 modle 5 speed

that clear it up? these wont interchange... the bellhousing/case is completely different, the gears dont match and cant be interchanged, the splines dont spline up on the axles, i THINK it will stab tho... but you cant use the input shaft as a replacement part in the 22 to 33 or vice versa. even the bearings for the shafts are different... you CAN use the pivot ball/clutch fork tho and the brass nuts up on top of the overdrive gearset since thoes are basicly the ONLY parts that are the same.

rebuilt both of these a few times... hope its been a learning experinece for ya.

thanx for info, will the 2 transmissions work on any other engine like the f5m22 bolt to a 2.0 engine and the f5m33 bolt to a 1.8?
