OK I want to get this 2g talon but the main bearing in the tranny. I just want to know how big of a pain it is to pull the tranny on a 2g. I know it will be easy to pull the bearing and replace it but I have never removed a tranny on a dsm before. Let me know what all is involved with tranny removal, like ac stuff or whatever. Thanks for the info.

jackstands, pull both front tires off, take off your karmon vortex MAF unit, upper IC to mainfold tube, a few vaccume lines.... one or two wires (unless your on an auto, which you didnt specify), unbolt 2 14mm bolts on the back of the block holding the drivers side half shaft. take off the transfer case if applicable. remove tranny-bay mount at both points (on the bay wall and on the top of the tranny) pull the 2 17mm bolts that hold the strut and front knuckles together on each side, remove a cotter pin and large (i believe 22 or 24 mm) king/castle nut from each side. pop passengerside axle out with a prybar, slide drivers side axle out, unbolt starter/starter ground. unbolt the rest of the tranny... slide outwards and drop down... dont let it hang on the input shaft, not a good thing.... and voila, you have a removed tranny

dont take this verbatim, there might be a few details i left out in the process of removing a 2g, the last few ive done were 1gs....

your basicly going to have to dismantle the whole tranny and press the bearing off (if thats the problem).... i would do a job in about 30 minutes but its definantly not a task for the faint of heart tho its technicly a simple task. expect a tranny shop to take you for a good bit of money if you use them to do this.
