Transmission wear issues

I had a small leak coming out of the endcase on my trransmission, easy fix right? WRONG! First the bolts are way overtorqued my whoever had it off last 100 pounds or more I would bet. Then I get the case off and see that the reason it is leaking is because whoever had it off last gouged the crap outa the sealing surface with a screwdriver and it was leaking out of the groove they put in it. Well I start cleaning up the old crap they attempmted to seal it with then noticed a bunch of things that obviously arnt good, Metal shavings and chunks in the oil and the bottom of the case makes me wonder how much is spread throughout the transmission.

Also it looks like when my car was in a wreck it hit the end case and hit it into whatever gear this is on the bottom of the tranny, Is this going to cause any issues ? And are the two grooves that are going around it normal?

Second the case had oil and now has a big groove in it where it was pressed into the gear how thick is this and should i grind it out more or just leave it or buy a new case?

After I thought that was all I looked at the gear teeth and they got nothches in them I dont know if this is normal or maybe from the pieces of metal floating around in the transmission.

HELP!!!!!!! WWYD (What would you do)

And also WHY and how did the hole show up on my bell housing wtf?????

In order of pictures:

1. Don't know what you're showing in that one unless it's the two welds that go around the Viscous Coupler? Normal.

2. Not normal. There should not be a gouge in that case.

3. Normal. Depending on the year some of the gears have those identifying marks on them

4. Normal. Same as above.

5. Normal. Same as above.

6. Can't really tell what that is. If it doesn't go all the way through enough to leak anything, I wouldn't worry about it.

I would worry about why/how that case got the gouge in it. Don't just fix the case fix what caused it to do that!

BTW, the gear in that case is 5th.

Grooves are normal they are two welds that hold the VC together. The outside edge of the VC is supposed to taper down a little bit just like that but I'm not too sure if it's excessive on yours or not. Take a look at the VC in these pics and compare:

oh cool thanks for that pic I think Im just going to grind that area where its damaged on the case, Paint the damaged area put it on then take it off after a few hundred miles to make sure its not rubbing if it is ill buy a new case. I have no clue what the gouge is it looks like it came from the inside almost like rust or something but I know its alum.
