I have a ACT 2600 in my car right now and my trans will be here Friday. I've had this one slip on me before so i was thinking about this other clutch i have. All i know about it, is that it came from an AWD that was totaled, it has a purple pressure plate with some yellow on it ( not all yellow like ACT) Some one once said they thought it was a 2900 LB clutch, but i have no way of being sure. Does the color scheme sound familiar or do you guys think it's just an ebay junker?

I can get good pics of it tomorrow since i have to go to my shop anyway.

Just looking for possible pics of existing clutches that it might be so i can compare and make a judgment call on using it or not.

In the tuners parts catalogue it looks closest to a "spec Stage II" but is more the color of the exceddy twin disk, but without being twin disk. It's a mainly normal looking clutch but from what i remember has a really pretty purple color on the outer edges of the pressure plate

Yea, the clutch is second hand. The junkyard i use to manage would get AWD talons and eclipses all the time, and when there was anything performance i would get it for myself since we wouldn't sell aftermarket goods except stereos. I got the clutch from an AWD that had about 40K on it, not sure how many miles are on the clutch.

But being that i blew my entire cash load on a stage II Team RIP tranny, I'm forced to either put it back together with my used act 2600 or that used one that came from the AWD car. I'll get a serial number off it today. We (the junkyard) tested the car when it came in and the clutch didn't seem to drag or anything and the flywheel wasn't purple or burned anywhere. I was just hoping it was maybe something with a little more clamping power than the 2600. I want a carbon bad but can't afford it, i just want something that will take some abuse without starting to slip after a few good pulls at the strip, or something i can at elast feather off the line and have it still hold when i get to 3rd gear. The ACT will do it, just not consistantly
