ok heres the deal. havent had much luck searching since I dont even know what to look for.

I have a 95 tsi awd. The transmission I just had put together has a 97 bellhousing and tcase, and the center section and internals from a 91. My axles are the original 95 axles.

I'm leaking gear oil out of the bellhousing. I overfilled it because I didnt think about the 1g middle section holding less fluid. But I did drain the fluid down to the proper level after that. Anybody know anything else that can leak into the bellhousing other then the input shaft seal or the tcase output shaft seal? They are both new but I realized the input seal is probably the old style one since it was ordered with the syncro set for the 91 internals. I checked both seals from mitsu and they appear to be the same size except that the later style one (92-present) has a metal piece in the back side of the seal. The output seals are the same part number for all the years.

The other weird thing is when I run it on the lift it doesn't seem to leak. I ran it for a bit at 35 then 60 then ran it up to 100 and there were no drips on the floor but just taking it around the block and 1/2 mile to my house at normal road speeds the whole underside of the trans was damp from spraying out the flywheel cover and the opening for the clutch fork.

Anybody have any ideas? I did have to modify the trans side motor mount to bolt up to the 1g section but it bolted up straight so i dont think theres any extra stress on anything.

Found the problem. big thanks to everyone :(

even though the fluid looked like it was coming out the bellhousing at the clutch opening it was actually coming from a small bolt hole just above the clutch fork and running down the outside and inside of the trans. not sure whats its for but its above the fork, and below the shifter assembly on the outside of the trans. 8mm x 1.5 hole that the trans guy didnt put the bolt back into.
