My transfer case seal on the transmission side is leaking. Not the one where the drive shaft connects but the actually spline to the transmission shaft. Quick question. I need to replace it. The seal is only about 4 to 5 dollars more than likely..but how in the hell do i change it? Do i need to come from the back and deassemble the gears and press it out? or can i take a screw driver and do it from the front? Anyone ever done this before? any help would be awesome..thanks.

I replaced mine when I had the x-fer case off for a clutch swap. It's quite simple, you need to drop the case, then just pry the seal out carefully with a screwdriver, press the new seal in and bolt the case back up. Should be no more than a 1/2 hour job.

Good Luck.
