My clutch just died and i am looking into getting another one. My goal for my car is mid 12's with maybe 1 track visit a month. Should i go aahead and get the act 2600lbs or the 2100lbs. I also want the one that will last the longest!! ANy imput would be great.

would a 2100 be alright for a fwd? THe goals of the car would be probably mid to low 13's.

Thanks

ClutchMasters makes a 2100lb & 2500lb set-up with the solid face or segmented Kevlar face on the disc which will last a long time. Only down side is that if your abuse it (slip it badly off the line), it will heat fade and not hold on high power engines until it cools down again.

You should be able to hit those goals with a boost controller and an exhaust. It still depends on how much racing you do at that level and what type of launch technique you are using. A 2600 isnt all that bad anyway.

Cool thanks alot. I dont do much racing at the track. I havent done any yet with this car cause I just got it. I plan on racing it maybe once a month in the spring and summer. My only plans for it ( its tottaly stock except for k&n and ignition ) are a complete exhaust and gauges. Thanks again. Happy holidays.

The 2100lb would do fine. Just be honest with you goals. If you think you will eventually get to low 13's or high 12's I would definately recommend the 2600lb. The AWD cars are very hard on the clutch, especially as the power levels increase.

Yeah, the guy who owned my car before me replaced the clutch with an OEM replacement and it's already dead after like 10,000 miles. I'm definately getting a 2600, the only problem is the money. Anyone know the cheapest price on a full kit for a 2600?

I have a ClutchMasters 2500 w/4-puck sprung hub. My car just spins all four wheels if I launch hard (not side-stepping the clutch, just a smooth quick release). I had a ACT 2100 before, started slipping as I started making more power. I'm pretty sure for most of us, the cars will break the tires loose before it breaks parts. Now if you like slamming gears and launching with NO MERCY, then it doesn't matter, you're gonna break something.

could you use a 2100 on a n/t fwd.im gonna werk the motor to see what i can get outta it but my clutch went and i need to replace it.i have no serious mods yet but there next.

97 GST SPYDER wants to hit low 13s someday maybe high 12s. should i go with 2100 or 2600:confused:

Kinda off the subject but, how is easy is it to drive a car w/a 2600 is it easy to stall if you are not careful? How does it slip compared to a stock clutch?
