what would cause my 93 plymouth laser to pop out of reverse???

all other gears work perfectly fine.

anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

your cables are probably out of alignment, but my car has the same problem and this is what I do:

put it in reverse, and hold your hand over it, so that it can't pop out, but don't prevent it from moving any other way. Start to let your clutch out slowly, if it was going to pop out, your hand will prevent it from poping out, and instead, it will pop into gear, and once it pops in, it won't come out again. You can also force it in and make sure its ALL the way in and you won't have this problem, but my way the car kinda does it itself, so I think its not as hard on stuff.

My car does the same thing, and I do just as tstkl describes. Hold it in place, and slowly let out the clutch, and it goes into gear fully.

Check the adjustment on the shifter cables first. If the problem is still there, check for worn or broken engine and tranny mounts. If that doesnt fix it, remove the side cover from the tranny and make sure that both 36mm nuts are completely tight. I had one nut back off slightly and it caused reverse to pop out. One sign of broken mounts or loose shaft nuts is that the shifter will rock back and forth when you hit the gas and let off while in gear driving.
