2g awd....transmission was rebuilt by shep a little over a year ago....all of the sudden today the 2nd 4th and reverse began to feel spongy....and then i lost everything except my first gear.....wtf is going on?

Since they are all on the back stroke of the shifter I would first have someone observe the arms on the transmission when you are shifting. If they are going full stroke then the problem could lie inside the trans. If not, it could be a cable or shifter problem itself. Lastly, I would unhook the cables and manually shift the trans via the shift rods on the trans and see if you can get the gears that way. Otherwise, it's a comin' out.

Do these tests and let us know. Good Luck

ok, so i unhooked the linkage under the hood and i can move the lever on the left but i cant move the lever on the right...whats that about? i hooked the linkage back up and i can get it into 1st and second....any thoughts

Like I said before. If you can't shift it with the cables unhooked, then likely you have some kind of situation inside the transmission that is going to have to be addressed. I would look for possible roll pin breakage/missing. There's no way to absolutely know without taking it apart. Now, if you are capable of doing it, then I would proceed. Otherwise it's going to a little trip to the transmission shop. Just don't cut corners on this one.

Good Luck
