I have a 98 talon n/t auto (scary huh!!) and ive always heard that sticks are quicker, but my friend has a 99 eclipse stick with the same mods as me. We race to a tie every time. Can someone give me some feedback please

You do know that you can INCREASE the boost, right?

Try 18psi with the fuel pump rewire and you'll be taking him easy.

Their was already a debate about automatics vs manuals on here started by me.search in the forums for it.but for a quick summary automatics can be made to be faster than a manual any day of the week so dont think your car sucks cuz its a auto

is anyone having problems with their auto tranny. mine likes to shift down from 2nd to 1st kinda rought sometimes and you can hear it thump but its not a grind its just a hard down shift everyone once in a while. i took it back and they keep resetting the tranny but its not working... any input??

I believe that is regular on most DSM autos. The Translab Shift Kit seemed to help that out with me.

hey my car has that problem too... but whats a translab shift kit? some people have told me that it might be the solenoid pack too..thanks for hearing me out..

Here is some info from one of my older posts. I tried contacting Charles at Plymouthlaser.com but he was out and I have the information of the guy who actually makes them.

Here is the info on getting it: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/sho...light=shift+kit (Dean Mason, guy who makes the kit)

How to install it: http://www.plymouthlaser.com/skit.htm

Your car will shift into gear much faster. It took me forever to get the guy who made it info because the place that sold them moved and it wasn't a top priority to carry them. A few other people on the board have them, the kit and end clutch. I'll let everyone know how mine is when my car is up and running in March.

How about reading there genius. The first line dictates he has an NT. If you have somehow defied the law of physics and found out how to raise "boost" on a non-turbo car, get a patent as soon as humanly possible. Otherwise, READ (i.e. left to right, top to bottom) the posts.

LOL GoFastTSI, You just OWNED that guy.. hahhah..

In response to automatics, its not that they can't be fast it is just mostly that very few people have tried. How is this for an example..

My dad has a 97 Nissan Maxima SE Automatic. We did intake exahust under drive 255lph pump, AFPR and a Nitrous Express single nozzle kit jetted to 125hp (yeah I know, don't tell me)

With slicks at the track he pulled 1.8 60ft times and a best 1/4 of 13.1 @ 104mph. Everybody said it could never be done that a 60ft like that would never happen and it would never go that fast in the 1/4. What is even scarier is when he pulled that 13.1 time it was with a 2.0 60ft time, he didn't get it outta the hole very fast. The 1.8 60ft time he got a killer launch and the spray ran out at the 1000ft mark and he ran 13.3 @ 99. If the spray had of lasted (we were going crazy with it that day) it would have been a 12.8 or 12.9 pass as that was the fastest 60ft we ever pulled in his car.. Too bad it ran out.

Yes that is my dad with an automatic maxima smoking the shiznit outta the tires at the drag strip. Looks funny him wearing a helmet. People are like "why is that guy wearing a helmet and whats with the wheels?" After they see the times, it's enough to shut them up.

This year he is running a 2002 Maxima (the 3.5 L with 255hp) and running the NX on a dedicated fuel system with C-16 and 150hp shot. Should be mid 12's no problem. Still Automatic. should be interesting at the track. (all this is the reason I just got a new t3/t4 and front mount etc etc so he doesn't go faster than me.. LOL...)

like i said earlier about the thump in my tranny. i took it to another shop here they found the problem. there were metal shavings all through the tranny , my gears were bad, the torque converter was shot and i needed a new drive axle. praise the lord for the dealer ship warranty. but thats what was needed to get the thump outta my car i hope.. im still waiting to get it back.
