well i did the 1st gen n/t to turbo swap, swapped harnesses, ecu, engine, exhaust, tranny, clutch(and all those things), master and slave cylinders. Pretty much everything. My tranny wasnt shifting right so i took it to a shop.

HE said i needed new synchros, bearings and a 3-4 shift fork. So, i had him do the work. I put the tranny back in my car and NOW.

It wont shift into first, it pops outta second, and at 5-7rpms itll grind if i throw into 3 4 or 5. Reverse is 50/50 sometimes it works right sometimes not. I put GM synchromesh in the tranny. MY clutch is COMPLETLY bled, the slave and master cylinders ARE the turbo ones.

I've heard of some dsms(mostly 1st gens) that no matter what they still cant a good tranny. ONe guy(he had a 11 sec GSX at one time) had the problem so bad that he rebuilt his tranny TWICE, put smaller hosing(for more pressure) on his clutch lines, lengthened his rod on his slave cylinder and increased his throw-out bearing pivot with no luck.

If any has any suggestions on what the problem could be or has had the same thing happen let me know. BTW im taking the car to the tranny shop on thursday or so to see what he says. Needless to say..IM NOT HAPPY

THanks

About the part where you can't get a good tranny, I rebuilt mine with new bearings, blocker rings (part of synchro), steel shift forks and a double synchro 2nd gear; and it shifts as good as any tranny I've ever shifted! (I've driven alot of cars as a mechanic)

Now for your problem. Although it sounds like the clutch may be hanging up or not disengaging all the way (incidently, did you check to see if your release fork and pivot ball were worn out?), I'd recheck your shift cables to make sure that's all assembled correctly, and if that's all good, ask your mechanic how many DSM trannys they have rebuilt. If they tell you lots and they all suck, find a new mechanic.
