lost my tranny....linkage?

hey, i just lost 2nd 4th and revese on my car, i can get it into 2nd but i have to double clutch it. Some one told me it might be the linkage, but hte thing is trans are not my thing, and was wondering if someone could point me how to adjust and where to find the linkage it would be greatly appreciated.

it is a 92 laser AWD

You're right, it's likely a shifter linkage problem.

You can fiddle with the cables at the transmission end, as well. But I'd try taking a look at the linkage at the shifter first.
Are you grinding gears? Or does the shifter just stay in "Neutral" when you try to shift?

Have a friend shift through the gears with the car off and take a look at the cables on top of the transmission (you can take the MAS/aircan off if you want - helps visibility). Pull the rubber boots back on the cables and check to make sure the cables aren't frayed.

Also, sometimes it's just a simple issue of a plug or group of wires being "stuck" in the path of the shifter cables. Move everything out of the way and perhaps you'll get your lower gears back

I had a similar problem not long ago. Basically turned out to be shifter linkage related, plus a few other things that probably are not related to your problem.
