Are 90 trannies the same as other 1g's?

Or like all other parts are they different? Mine needs replaced but I just want to make sure they are all the same. I searched this forum but didn't come up with anything.

We had bought a '90 for a parts car for Julias '92.......the tranny and all internals fit....the big diff.is everything else like the Alt.,T.B, thermo housing ect. The tranny from the '90 is in her car right now and working great. :thumb:

Uhhhh, the '90 year had a different spline count on the input shaft(22) and it had a single syncro on 2nd gear. It is by far the worst 1G tranny, (I have a '90 so I understand).

90 ARE different. The cables, shifter assembly (in car), shift levers (on tranny), and some internals are all 90 only. You can change those, but the tranny itself is a weaker design so your best bet is to get a 91-94 and use that, or have the 90 rebuilt by someone with a good rep IE Shep.
