Ok here is what's going on
the car is idling normally so I don't think there's anything wrong with the engine, but when I put it on drive and accelerate to go, the car barely moves while the engine is revving @ about 3000 or 4000 anybody out there that knows what's going on Thanks...
any tips or suggestions before I take it to "satan" ?

THANK YOU!!:thumb:

Make sure it's full of fluid, and if you know of anyone else with an AutoECU, try using that. I've seen the ECU for the transmission die, and do weird things.

Can you tell where exactly I can find the ECU ..... I don't have clue where to look for it thanks I looked and looked over the previous posts but still can't get anything accurate

is it an auto? My old probe started doing stupid #@%#@%#@%#@% like getting stuck in gear while driving, I'd just downshift it to 1 or 2, wait for it to click over (and almost put my head through the windshield), then back to drive and it was fine. I sold the car before I dealt with the problem, because the engine itself was going too.

So try using the 2nd gear to get it unstuck

yes it does get better once it's running a little faster looks like it's stuck on 2nd gear or something like that and doesn't make a normal take off but I already manualy shift it from 1st to drive and it does the same thing
Hey pneumo is there any whay to fix that or to check if it is stuck??
I also suspect is the torque converter but than again i'm no expert
and this is my 1st DSM so you know :)

Prostreetonline does the ECU have a label it to Id it or any special shape or exact location ?? sorry anotherone of the newbies here !

THANKS!

i had the same prob on my 92 TSi auto when i tried to put in a new shift knob. Basically all that was happening to me was that a fuse kept blowing. Its a 10 amp fuse on your kick panel. Check that first, may be the cheapest/easiest way to fix that problem

was the fuse labeled to what it was for ??
in other words which was the fuse that was failing??

sounds like the same problem i just fixed... did you smell something fishy before this started happening??? mine was leaky caps in the transmission computer(tcu). the tcu is located under the radio.
