2002 WRX,
At 56,000 my '91 Talon had the following clutch work done by the dealer (free):
"Replaced clutch and resurfaced flywheel"
Dealer repair invoice states these parts were used:
MD734041 Cover Ass
MD741009 Disc Clut
MD719925 Bearing
80-90 Gear Lube

The car is now at 102k miles, and the clutch apears to be worn out. It was fine, a friend borrowed the car for the weekend, now I can't go faster than 2mph.

Seems like low miles for another problem. Does it look like all the important parts were replaced at 56k?

I was thinking of taking on the work myself, mostly because I can't drive it anywhere to get it fixed, and towing is rip off in SoCal.

Yes It looks like everything was replaced. Cover Ass is the cover assembly(pressure plate)Disc clut (clutch disc)bearing(throwout bearing) and they added some lube. Sounds like your friend had a fun weekend?

Yeah he swears he didn't do anything to it, but who knows for sure.
Guess i'll start ripping it apart, hope I know what to look for when I see it!
