Question wont stay in reverse
i just replaced the axel on my 93 tsi and the car wont stay in reverse it just pops out it worked before i replaced the axel but now it wont

one of the master mechanicas at my school told me that it was probally my shift linkage sience reverse worked when i took the axel out how do you think that i could have messed it up
