cant shift into second....help

when im driving and rev my car up to 7000rpm, i cant shift into second gear untill the revs go back down to around 5000rpm, but shifting from 2nd to 3rd is ok. Some people are telling me its my fly wheel and others are telling me its me trany fluid. Has anyone had this problem or know of someone who has. I really need help here and i want to avoid rebuilding my trany if possible

you can try a different type of fluid and see if that helps, or check your clutch fluid level and see if its dirty. if that doesnt work than its likely that your second gear synchro is shot.
my second gear synchro is shot and my tranny behaves the same way you describe.
im gonna get it rebuild with double synchros.

sounds like a bad tranny, because it wont go in at all at high rpms, you can try a better gear oil, but chances are the damage is done...
